IDF reveals death of soldier in Hezbullah attack, bringing Lebanon border fatalities to 23

On May 8, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) disclosed the passing of one soldier who perished as a result of a Hezbullah assault on Al-Malkiah the day before. The deceased soldier was identified as Staff Sgt. Haim Sabach, 20, a resident of Holon serving in the Border Defense Corps’ 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit. Additional details reveal that this tragedy brings the number of fatalities acknowledged on the Lebanese border to 23. The slain soldier’s unit is responsible for calling in air strikes against combatants or targets in southern Lebanon.
