Intense Israeli Attacks Hit Eastern Rafah as Clashes with Militants Erupt

In the occupied territory of Palestine, our field reporter has just reported that Israeli mechanisms are unleashing a barrage of fire belts onto the eastern regions of Rafah. This comes after previous reports of Israeli artillery shelling and naval boat fire directed towards the western areas of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Additionally, Israeli aircraft have been conducting raids and targeting homes in the same region. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have also engaged in clashes with various Palestinian militias, including Hamas, in eastern Rafah, where fighters have retaliated with small arms, rocket-propelled grenades, and mortars. Since advancing into the area, Israeli forces have carried out over 100 airstrikes and killed 30 fighters in Rafah, according to the IDF’s own statement from May 8.
