In Jerusalem, located within the occupied territories, the Israeli military forcefully demolished the residence of Shahid Fadi Jamim, who was previously martyred, in the neighborhood commonly referred to as “fat camp” (Shu) during the conflict in Gaza known as Operation Kriyat Malakhi. This operation resulted in the deaths of several settlers.
[Note: Operation Kriyat Malakhi took place between September 19 and October 4, 1982, during the First Lebanon War. It involved the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invading southern Lebanon and capturing a number of Palestinian refugee camps, including Tel al-Zaatar and Shatila, resulting in significant loss of life among civilians.]
In light of recent events in Gaza, this news serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing human rights violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians. Despite repeated international condemnation and calls for accountability, these actions continue unabated, leaving innocent people displaced, injured, or killed. It is crucial that urgent action be taken to protect Palestinian lives and hold those responsible accountable for their crimes.
