During their Game 2 victory against the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks fans chose to target a prominent enemy instead of directing their chants towards the referees or any of the Pacers players. Legendary opponent Reggie Miller found himself in the crosshairs of the Madison Square Garden crowd as they shouted “F–k you Reggie!” as the final buzzer sounded. The former Indiana Pacer, who currently serves as a broadcaster for TNT, was seated at the announcers’ table during the game. Knicks player Josh Hart clarified to Miller that the chants were directed at him specifically. Fans have not forgotten Miller’s infamous performance in the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals where he scored eight points in nine seconds. In response to concerns regarding his safety returning to New York City to call the game, Miller quipped, “People are like, ‘Aren’t you worried about going back to New York City and calling a game?’ No. I’ve owned this city. I’ve owned this building! So why would I be worried about walking out there?” The Knicks now hold a 2-0 lead in the series, with Game 3 scheduled to take place in Indianapolis.
