In Lake City, Florida, Haley Blunt, a 24-year-old woman, was apprehended last week for breaking into her neighbor’s house while in the nude, as stated by law enforcement officials. Blunt now faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and child neglect, according to a news release issued by the authorities.
The occurrence took place at around 11:56 p.m. On May 1 at a residence situated on NW Huntsboroa Street. Police arrived at the location after receiving a call from the victim reporting a break-in in progress.
As per the accounts relayed by the victim, someone knocked on the front door, but when asked who it was, nobody replied. Later, the same individual went to the sliding glass door and continued knocking, yet refused to reveal their identity when queried.
While the victim was conversing with the emergency services dispatcher, the suspect broke a window and entered the property. The victim then abandoned the house and joined the police officers waiting outside.
Upon approaching the entrance, the police observed Blunt completely naked and injured herself while shattering the window. She was subsequently transferred to a nearby medical facility for treatment before being detained at the Columbia County jail.
Further investigation revealed that Blunt, who resided in close proximity, left her two young children at home without supervision, leading to her child neglect charge. The children were eventually found secure and handed over to a relative.
Currently, Blunt is being kept in custody without bail.
