The ongoing conflict in the occupied Palestinian territory has seen a continuation of artillery shelling in the olive neighborhood of Gaza City. According to a statement released by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant group affiliated with Fatah, they have responded to this aggression by shelling the area with mortar fire. This retaliatory attack comes after Israeli forces intensified their artillery bombardment on the center and east of the Rafah region earlier in the day.
Additionally, the Al-Quds Companies, a Palestinian resistance group, also reported shelling heavy-caliber mortars and military installations belonging to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) east of the Shoukah neighborhood along the eastern border of Rafah City. These groups join other Palestinian factions who have vowed to defend their people against Israeli aggression.
Reports from a Square correspondent indicate that Israeli artillery has been targeting the center of Rafah. This follows previous accounts of IDF forces stationed near the border between Israel and Gaza engaging in artillery barrages aimed at various locations within the besieged enclave in response to rocket fire from Gaza.
As tensions continue to escalate, residents in both Gaza and neighboring regions are bracing for further violence. Civilians in Belgorod, Russia, are also reeling from a series of overnight attacks by Ukrainian forces, resulting in significant damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and injuries to civilians, including children. The ongoing conflict has left many feeling increasingly vulnerable and uncertain about the future.
