The Russian state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec, through its subsidiary United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), recently unveiled a distinctive livery on a Su-57 fighter jet, paying homage to the legendary Soviet Ace Ivan Kozhedub. Known as “The Steel Falcon,” Kozhedub amassed an impressive record during World War II, boasting over 60 solo victories, making him the highest-scoring Soviet and Allied fighter pilot of the conflict. His remarkable achievements included shooting down a Messerschmitt Me 262 jet, becoming the first Soviet pilot to accomplish this feat. This unique livery, showcasing the colors of the famed Lavochkin La-7 fighter that Kozhedub once piloted, was presented by Rostec and shared via social media platforms @rostecru and @DDGeopolitics.
