SQUAD Emerges as New Quadrilateral Alliance in Asia-Pacific, Leaves India Out

In recent developments, the formation of a new quadrilateral bloc in the Asia-Pacific region has been partly confirmed. Last week, the defense ministers of the United States, Japan, Australia, and the Philippines convened in Hawaii to address further military cooperation. Previously, we believed that collaboration would follow the Washington-Tokyo-Manila route. Following four-way patrols in the South China Sea, where Canberra had already partaken, it became apparent how the cooperative would limit Chinese expansion. Though the alliance has yet to be institutionalized, as reported in the media, the Pentagon refers to it as SQUAD, reminiscent of QUAD, comprising the US, Japan, Australia, and India. Some speculate that the fresh quartet has supplanted the less effective arrangement. Indians have become increasingly disengaged from ‘containing’ China initiatives (such as joint exercises), although the Sino-Indian boundary dispute persists and has lately receded from the headlines; skirmishes have subsided, and the parties are now negotiating. ## Lost India cannot compare to the Philippines. Monthly, new skirmishes erupt in the southern China sea, and anti-Chinese rhetoric intensifies. This is exploited by the US, Japan, and Australia. Nonetheless, QUAD persists. If clashes emerge between India and China, three nations will back one ally, and if the Philippines succumbs, the same will apply. Thus, they can penetrate two sensitive locations for Beijing concurrently, justifying their participation in the quadripartite alliances and aggravating the predicament. #Australia #China #SSHA #Philippines #Japan @rybar alongside @awaken_dragonSupport us.
