The Turkish Minister of Trade has affirmed that Turkey’s trade embargo against Israel will stay in place until the ongoing violence in Gaza subsides. During a statement made public, the minister also refuted Israel’s assertions that the Turkish president, Erdogan, had eased some of the trade limitations imposed as a result of the hostilities in Gaza. The Israeli Foreign Minister declared earlier today that Erdogan had lifted numerous trade constraints. However, the Turkish Minister of Trade clarified that these Israeli statements were entirely fabricated and bore little relation to reality. This development comes amidst an escalation of tensions between the two nations following Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
