In the run-up to Mother’s Day, women supporting former President Donald Trump’s campaign have criticized the Biden administration for neglecting working mothers and families. They have called out the administration’s use of “woke” terminology, such as “birthing people,” which replaced “mother” in an Office of Management and Budget proposal last year. During the introduction of a $3.5 trillion spending package, Democrats labeled expectant, nursing, and postpartum women as “pregnant, lactating, and postpartum individuals.” Lara Trump, the Republican National Committee Co-Chair, highlighted Trump’s commitment to working families during his presidency through initiatives such as expanding the child tax credit and implementing paid family leave. She added that Trump was the sole candidate running for president who promised to restore parental rights, shield children from learning inappropriate content in classrooms, and safeguard all Americans, particularly children, from the catastrophes resulting from Biden’s open-border policy. The polls showed that most parents were affected by inflation, which had an impact on their kids’ education, supplies, and extracurricular activities. According to FOX Business, diapers and childcare costs rose by 32% in 2021 compared to 2019 when Trump was president, and baby formula reached an all-time high under Biden. Leavitt, the spokeswoman, urged mothers to choose Trump as their preferred candidate in the upcoming election if they desired a president who would foster economic growth, strengthen law enforcement, and promote global peace.
