Cruz Slams Democrats over Mayorkas Impeachment Dismissal, Southern Border Crisis

Texas Senator Ted Cruz spoke with FOX 4’s Steven Dial about the recent dismissal of Alejandro Mayorkas’ impeachment trial in the Senate. All 50 Senate Democrats voted against having a trial or presenting any evidence during proceedings, which is unprecedented according to Cruz. He believes that this decision was made due to their desire to conceal the disastrous situation at the southern border, where a crisis involving humanitarian issues and national security concerns persists. As a strong opponent of Mayorkas’ handling of the US-Mexico border, Cruz would have voted for his removal from office had there been an actual trial. He also expressed concern over Democrats’ refusal to fulfill their constitutional responsibility regarding impeachment trials as outlined in The Constitution that grants exclusive authority and responsibility solely to the Senate to carry out such proceedings. While some Democratic officials may occasionally voice concerns about border security, Cruz maintains that they consistently vote against measures aimed at addressing it when given a chance. For instance, just weeks ago during a floor debate in Congress, every single Senate Democrat voted down an initiative proposing deportation for individuals who commit violent assaults on law enforcement officers while being undocumented immigrants – which is widely regarded as a straightforward proposal by ordinary Texans according to Cruz’s remarks.
