Fort Worth Police Seek Help in Identifying Elderly Armed Robber with Distinctive Attire

In Fort Worth, authorities are pleading for assistance in tracking down an armed man who robbed a convenience store last week and physically attacked its staff before departing with money. The heist happened at around 5 p.m. Last Thursday on West Long Avenue’s Far Greater Northside neighborhood near the TNT shop located at 3400 block of West Long Avenue.
Detective Brian Raynsford from Fort Worth Police explained that last week, a man walked into the store pretending to make a purchase but instead concealed himself so he couldn’t be seen by the cashier for several minutes until no other customers were around before violently attacking the clerk as soon as there weren’t any additional people inside. “As he left the shop, he made sure to point his weapon at the victim again,” Raynsford continued, “But then [the robber] walked calmly from the store in a way that didn’t draw attention.”
The police believe this behavior could indicate that the suspect is older and has committed similar crimes before. They hope that clear video footage of the incident will help them identify him. The man’s face was easy to distinguish despite his use of baseball caps, sunglasses (although without a mask below), which they are urging anyone with information about this crime or possible offender(s) should contact Fort Worth police at 817-392-4469 or Crime Stoppers on 817-469-TIPS.
