Jimmie Allen clarified misunderstandings surrounding his twin children’s birth last year in an emotional interview with Kathie Lee Gifford on YouTube. The country singer revealed that when Danielle, a longtime friend who is now pregnant with their fraternal twins daughter Aria and son Amari, conceived before he reunited romantically with ex-wife Lexi. “I’ve known Danielle for years… But it’s interesting just watching how life happens whether you plan it or not,” Allen said. The pair welcomed the babies in June 2021 after attempting to repair their relationship, which fell apart before Cohen, born in September, was delivered by Lexi. They also share daughters Naomi and Zara together. In addition to these kids with his former wife, Aadyn (9), whom Allen has from a prior romance is part of the family unit too. Following the twins’ birth announcement on Instagram, false reports circulated that Danielle was an avid fan who got pregnant during their relationship while they were still married; however, this wasn’t true as she and her husband weren’t together at the time either. Allen added: “I am healing and growing for me and my children.” The singer also discussed his battle with depression and suicidal thoughts after being accused of sexual assault by multiple women last year (allegations which he has since denied). He said that when news about these allegations broke, it made him contemplate suicide as well. “After a few months… It went from ‘God why is this happening to me?’ To ‘God what am I supposed to learn?” Allen explained in the interview. The singer still struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts but has found solace through therapy sessions.
