TikTok Video Captures Brown Bear Juniper Devouring Ducklings at Woodland Park Zoo

Rachelle captured a disturbing sight on TikTok last week as a brown bear named Juniper devoured several ducklings at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo during her daughter’s birthday party, with multiple children and adults present. The video shows the 2-year-old coastal brown bear from Anchorage, Alaska watching intently as a mother duck and her offspring swam in their habitat before diving into the water to snatch them one by one. Juniper has gained fame for her goofy personality and boisterous nature at the zoo; however, this incident may tarnish that image somewhat. The bear was found roaming alone near an air force base when she was discovered in Alaska. Her name is inspired by a plant native to Washington state’s Cascades region. Grizzly bears will also soon be introduced back into WA’s North Cascades area, which has not seen them for decades due to hunting and habitat loss.
