Multiple Officers Shot in Ongoing Charlotte Police Operation, SWAT Deployed

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – Multiple law enforcement officers have been hit by gunfire during a police operation in Charlotte today, according to authorities. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced on X that several victims were being transported to hospitals and shooting continued at the scene as of Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred while officials attempted to serve an arrest warrant in the 5000 block of Galway Drive when shots rang out, police said. It is unclear exactly how many officers have been injured during this still-active situation. Numerous roads around the area were closed for faster emergency vehicle access and authorities advised people to avoid the vicinity and stay indoors until further notice.
