Erin Jones, a 20-year-old student at the University of Arizona and native of Newport Beach, was tragically killed in a quadruple shooting that took place off campus over the weekend. The incident occurred early Sunday morning outside a house party in Tucson where officials found Jones unconscious with fatal injuries. She later passed away at the hospital while another female victim, who had been located inside a car nearby, is currently being treated and expected to survive her wounds. Two additional victims, an adolescent girl and man, were also injured during the shooting but managed to make their way to the hospital on foot without any assistance required. The University of Arizona’s President Robert Robbins expressed his condolences in a statement released Sunday night, stating that “Our deepest sympathies go out to Erin’s family in California and across the country, her friends, and her classmates in Tucson and Newport Beach who are currently dealing with this heartbreaking news.” The authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects connected to this tragic incident.
