CNN Anchor Suggests Noem’s Dog Story a Trump Appeal in Book Controversy

CNN anchor Kasie Hunt suggested that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s decision to include a story about putting down her dog, Cricket, in her new book might have been an attempt to appeal to former President Donald Trump. The controversy around the tale erupted on social media as speculation grew over whether Trump would be considering Noem for his potential 2024 presidential campaign’s vice presidency role. Hunt questioned if this was a deliberate move by Noem, given that Trump has been known to use aggressive language against dogs in the past. In an El Paso rally in 2019, he remarked it would appear “a little phony” for him to be seen walking his dog around The White House because of the time constraints associated with holding public office. However, Noem defended her decision by explaining that Cricket had killed livestock as per South Dakota law; dogs responsible for such an offense could potentially face execution in such a circumstance. Trump has already endorsed Noem’s new book titled “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” which is scheduled to be released on May 7th, describing it as a ‘winner.’ Earlier this month, Governor Noem expressed her unwavering support for Trump over President Joe Biden in any hypothetical scenario where the former president might face conviction during his Manhattan hush money trial. The Washington Examiner contacted representatives from the potential 2024 presidential campaign of Donald J.Trump seeking comments regarding Hunt’s statement but had received no reply by press time.
