Americans Fleeing Safety and Politics, Poland Holds onto Zloty amid Euro Delay

Fox News correspondent Alex Hogan reports on a growing trend as Americans opt for relocation abroad due to safety and political reasons. Meanwhile, in Europe, Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domański of the pro-European Union government has announced that after twenty years of membership with the European Union (EU), Poland is not yet prepared to adopt the euro currency. In an interview on TVN24 this week, Domański stated that retaining its own national currency – the zloty – had helped shield Poland from economic shocks during global financial crises and other significant disruptions in recent times. With respect to the original membership terms which included adopting the single European currency as a prerequisite for joining, this deadline will be commemorated by ten additional EU member states on May 1st of this year – twenty years since their accession into the bloc.
