FX is set to air a new series, “Clipped,” focused on the downfall of former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling in 2014 after he made racially charged comments towards his girlfriend V. Stiviano, whom he was reportedly intimate with. Recordings capturing these comments quickly went viral and led to a PR nightmare for both Sterling and the NBA as players protested against him while fans were outraged. The most infamous comment from the recordings saw Sterling say: “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.” FX has released a trailer for this upcoming series starring Laurence Fishburne and Ed O’Neill which promises an insightful look into Sterling’s ignoble dismissal from NBA ownership. Having received high critical acclaim previously, especially regarding “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” FX is known for covering real events with quality production. You can watch this new series starting June 4th on both FX and Hulu; I’m definitely adding it to my list! Let me know if you will be watching at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
