Dr. Fahed Saada, the owner of Pita Dream restaurant in Syracuse, explained that President Biden’s visit would result in financial losses for his business due to street closures during peak hours. This will force him to cancel third-party delivery services, a major source of sales at the restaurant, as well as some employee shifts, including high school students on spring break looking to earn extra money. Saada stated that this disruption adds more challenges in keeping a small business afloat these days. While Biden was visiting Syracuse to announce a $6.14 billion direct funding agreement for semiconductor manufacturing company Micron under the CHIPS and Science Act, Saada argued there are other pressing issues facing America requiring prioritization by President Biden such as allocating funds at home rather than using tax dollars overseas in ways that harm innocent people like those affected by recent events in Gaza. He also mentioned that national priorities were better managed during former president Trump’s administration regarding resource management, with over half of voters feeling worse off today compared to four years ago according to a Fox News Poll.
