During a recent rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, former football star Lawrence Taylor, widely regarded as the greatest linebacker of all time, appeared alongside former teammate Ottis Anderson to surprise the crowd. Assemblyman Paul Kanitra from New Jersey’s 10th legislative district recognized Taylor, his favorite player growing up, at the rally. In a speech, Taylor declared that nobody in his family would vote for a Democrat again, following his conversion to supporting Donald Trump. This comes amid speculation that Trump could flip New Jersey red in the upcoming election, as many attendees at the rally believed. One teacher, identified as Anna, highlighted her motivation to attend due to the state of the economy, while another supporter, Carlos, emphasized the need for Trump’s return to enable the country to return to its previous state under his leadership. The rally, which gathered approximately 40,000 individuals, took place during Trump’s ongoing trials in New York, D.C., Georgia, and Florida. The former president has continued to make public appearances, including two rallies in the week leading up to the Wildwood event. While New Jersey is traditionally a Democratic stronghold, some believe that the Republican registration surge in recent months, with twice the number of Republicans registering compared to Democrats, indicates that Trump could win the state in November. Supporters at the rally, including Carlos, expressed their belief that Trump’s return is necessary to address the country’s current problems, such as the state of the economy and Biden’s perceived failure to deliver. Others, such as Anna, cited economic concerns as their primary motivation for attending the rally. As the crowds gathered at the Jersey Shore, Trump himself promised that if they won New Jersey, they would win the whole thing.
