Chynna Phillips Admits Strain in Marriage after Move, Addresses Religious Differences with Baldwin

In a video posted to her YouTube channel titled ‘California Preachin’,’ Chynna Phillips, singer and wife of actor Billy Baldwin, admitted that their recent move across country caused a strain on their relationship. The couple have been experiencing bickering and arguing as the transition provided an “ideal breeding ground” for disagreements according to Phillips who expressed frustration about how easily communication broke down between them. However, after voicing her need for effective communication, Baldwin gained his composure allowing both of them to communicate properly. The couple has faced similar issues in their marriage before with Phillips filing for divorce from Baldwin back in 2010 due to feeling ‘flatlined’ and wanting more from their relationship which she later withdrew after realizing that leaving him would be the “biggest mistake” of her life. In recent months, both Phillips and Baldwin have been open about experiencing marital problems with a January video on Phillips’ YouTube channel revealing they had separated for six months but eventually reconciled. The couple admitted in another joint video later that month that their differences regarding religion caused ruptures between them as Christianity has become the center of her life, causing him to question whether they could truly be happy and connected long-term. However, Baldwin remains supportive of his wife’s faith journey while she finds it “slightly perplexing” he believes in God but hasn’t made a priority out of seeking a relationship with Him. Phillips is the daughter of cofounders of The Mamas & The Papas, and Wilson Phillips comprises her former band along with Carnie and Wendy Wilson while Baldwin’s brothers include Alec who has been making headlines for his recent incident regarding anti-Israel protestors and his forthcoming involuntary manslaughter trial relating to the fatal shooting on set of ‘Rust.’
