One cat lover named Carrie Clark has someone from an Amazon warehouse to thank for reuniting her with her beloved feline friend Galena after a week-long disappearance in the Salt Lake City, Utah area on April 10. In social media posts, she revealed how they searched every nook and cranny of their home as well as neighboring areas without any luck. Feeling defeated seven days later, Clark was stunned to receive a call from a veterinarian in California saying that her lost animal had been found. The vet confirmed Galena’s identity through the cat’s microchip before revealing how she ended up so far away – by jumping into an Amazon return package and being accidentally shipped to a warehouse in California. An Amazon night worker named Brandy Hunter noticed Galena inside the box, took her immediately to the vet where they discovered the chip belonging to Clark’s address on their systems, helping to bring the mother of two back together with her furry friend once again after flying out to collect her from California. The cat survived thanks in part to a side seam splitting open during transit and blood tests revealing normal results at the veterinary clinic where she was taken care of by Hunter’s kindness. Clark expressed gratitude towards both Galena, who loves hiding, hunting and playing inside boxes, for not raising any red flags being packed up so large due to her 10lb weight – and Hunter as well as everyone else involved in helping reunite the pair after such an unexpected ordeal.
