Trent Staggs Secures Trump Endorsement in Utah Senate Race with Wide Republican Support

Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs has gained significant support in his bid to replace retiring Senator Mitt Romney from Utah’s GOP seat. This endorsement came after former President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he is backing the Republican mayor, describing him as “100% MAGA” and a “Highly Successful Entrepreneur.” Staggs had already received support from prominent Republicans such as Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The Utah Fraternal Order of Police has also endorsed Staggs for his longstanding support of law enforcement and working conditions. However, the winner at Saturday’s state GOP convention may not necessarily be decided as losing candidates can still qualify by gathering signatures ahead of the June 25 primary ballot election.
